Asian Inspiration- Real Food Weekly

“Asian Inspiration”

Most people can’t deny some good Americanized Asian Food, with it’s salty MSG and fried delicacies covered in syrupy sauces.  Well, obviously a typical Asian restaurant here in the States isn’t the healthiest option, but I’ve come up with some easy and delicious made-from-scratch Asian recipes that are just as good as your favorite take-out, but much healthier.  There are few soup recipes included this week because homemade soups are a nourishing staple in Asian cuisine.

Love your ideas for Asian Inspiration Roz. I’ve been grazing on Lettuce Wraps ever since I catered them for the Camino Health Auxilary last week. The Asian/fusion flavors are so light and refreshing. I simply took skinless chicken breasts
baked, chunked them and added a small amount of Soyaki sauce (trader Joes) to the food processor and pulsed to
get the chicken the constancy I need for the tacos. My condiments were shredded carrots, fresh bean sprouts, and thinly sliced cucs. I also changed the iceburg to butter lettuce (after I cut off ther roots they were so fresh) also set out 3 kinds of sauces for more flavor..red chili, soy, and terriyaki. Yummy tacos withan Asian twist..oh and I did I mention noodles…just boiled Asian noodles (or top ramin will work…yuk).. Feel free to share this with you “foodies”… keep on keeping on with your enthusiam for cookin homestyle.. your kiddos will rise up and call you “Blessed” (well maybe later they will..ha)

Thanks Linda! Yes, I think as you dive into Asian food, the imagination runs wild. It only takes a few key ingredients to give food an asian flair, such as ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, etc.
